The development of the
Early Years Learning Framework is an integral component of the Australian Government’s
National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education and Care, being progressed collaboratively with state and territory governments through the
Council of Australian Governments (COAG) early childhood reform agenda. It will also underpin universal access to early childhood education to ensure delivery of nationally-consistent and quality early childhood education across sectors and jurisdictions.
The implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework will commence in early childhood settings from
July 2009 as announced byThe Parliamentary Secretary for Early Childhood Education and Child Care, Maxine McKew.

PSC WA have developed an EYLF Staff Professional Development Package to assist management and FDC coordinator staff deliver the EYLF to educators within their early childhood settings. This package contains a power point presentation, guided experiences and reflective questions. It is designed to assist educators in reflecting on their current care practices in relation to the EYLF and can be used to continue to engage educators in the reflection and implementation stages of the EYLF.
